Position Responsibilities:

  • Planning, tracking and managing development of new cast and forged parts at our overseas plants. 
  • Keeping all parties apprised of sample development progress and approvals - acting as a liaison between customers, company sales department,  and oversees product development associates. 
  • Ensuring development projects are delivered on time and customer approvals are expedited.
  • Track, report and manage project schedule and task details using project management tools such as reports, checklist and project timelines.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques, assuring that timely corrective action is taken.  Report and escalate development issues and delays as needed.
  • Review and manage daily communication with overseas product development team and recognize opportunities to avoid delays in sample development and approvals.  Work with the team to provide direction and ensure a sound technical approach is taken. 
  • Successfully manage relationships and communication with customer purchasing, engineering and quality contacts on assigned projects. 
  • Communicate effectively with peers and senior management.
  • Involvement in the development of manufacturing  processes to avoid quality and capacity issues in production.   
  • Trouble shoot manufacturing and quality problems.  Be a hands on problem solver and work collaborative with peers and supplier to support needed improvement efforts. 
  • Create, review and manage comprehensive project documentation for each part in development, including PPAP and associated processes (PFMEA, Control plans, Gage R and R, gage and inspection plans). 

Job Requirements


  • BS in Metallurgical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering or related fields. 
  • 10 years’ experience in product development and program management in the commercial foundry or forging operations. 
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and practices, including welding, machining  and assembly operations. 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, program management and engineering software.  3D modeling experience is beneficial.
  • Must have a strong technical background sufficient to understand blueprints, solid models, GD & T,  material and process specifications, etc.
